To (6-methoxy-2′-phenylsulfanylmethyl-4′-trifluoromethyl-biphenyl-3-yl)-acetic acid (0.030 g, 0.07 mmol) in CH2 Cl2 was added 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid (0.015 g, 0.07 mmol), and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 20 minutes. The mixture was concentrated, and the residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound.
