To a mixture of {2′-[(carbamoylmethyl-amino)-methyl]-6-methoxy-4′-trifluoromethyl-biphenyl-3-yl}-acetic acid methyl ester and (2′-hydroxymethyl-6-methoxy-4′-trifluoromethyl-biphenyl-3-yl)-acetic acid methyl ester (0.223 g, 0.54 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (2.2 mL) was added triethylamine (0.11 mL, 0.82 mmol), followed by acetyl chloride (0.06 mL, 0.82 mmol), and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 45 minutes. The mixture was worked up with CH2Cl2 and H2O, and the crude material was purified by silica gel chromatography (0-100% EtOAc in hexanes, then 5% MeOH in CH2Cl2) to give the title compound.
