To a solution of compound 235a (250 mg) in DMSO (2.5 mL) was added CH3COOK (3 eq.), water (2 eq.). The reaction mixture was heated to 140° C. for 4 hrs. After cooled to RT, water (1 mL) was added to the reaction mixture slowly under stirring. Solid was filtered and washed with water to yield compound 236a in >80% yield. In a separate reaction, when 5 eq. of CH3COOK was used, the reaction was completed in 1 hr.
