Procedure
Trifluoracetic acid (23.4 ml) is added dropwise to a solution of [(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethylcarbamoyl)-methyl]-carbamic acid ter-butyl ester (3.89 g) in dichloromethane (75 ml). After 18 hours at room temperature, the reaction mixture is concentrated in vacuo. The crude oil is purified by crystallization in diethylether to yield (2,2,2-trifluoro-ethylcarbamoyl)methyl-ammonium trifluoroacetate (4.12 g) as a white solid.
