Reaction Steps
2.5 g of oxo-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-acetic acid ethyl ester (example 15.1.a) were reacted with 1.5 g of benzyloxytrimethylsilane according to the procedure given in example 15.1.b) to give 1.2 g of (RS)-benzyloxy-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-acetic acid ethyl ester as slightly yellow oil.
