To a solution of N1-(3-cyanobenzoyl)-N2-(4-tert-butylbenzoyl)-1,2-benzenediamine (200 mg, 0.5 mmol) in methyl sulfoxide (10 mL) was added 30% hydrogen peroxide solution (0.5 mL, 5.8 mmol) and potassium carbonate (17 mg, 0.13 mmol). After stirring for 24 h, the reaction mixture was diluted with water (20 mL), filtered, washed with water, and dried to give 90 mg (43%) of the title compound as a white solid.
