To a stirred solution of 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-[4-(6-methoxy-3,4-dihydro-isoquinolin-1-yl)-piperidin-1-yl]-ethanone (0.160 g, 0.470 mmol) was added a solution of 10% K2CO3 (2 ml). The cloudy mixture was stirred at RT overnight. The reaction mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3×5 ml), the combined organic extracts were washed with brine (1×5 ml), dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give the desired compound as a yellow oil (0.101 g, 0.413 mmol, 88% yield).
