Trifluoroacetic acid is added to a solution of product from Step C in methylene chloride. After one hour at room temperature, the solution is evaporated, and the residue is partitioned between ethyl acetate and saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution. The organic phase is washed with saturated NaCl, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and evaporated to provide the title compound.
