To a solution of Example 1 (790mg) in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) and MeOH (10 mL) was added a solution of Oxone® (3.6 g) in H2O (10 mL). The mixture was stirred at r.t. for 2 hr and diluted with Et2O. The organic phase was washed with H2O, brine, dried (MgSO4) and the solvents evaporated. The resulting solid residue was stirred vigorously in hexane/Et2O for 1 hr and then filtered to afford the title compound as a yellow solid, m.p. 124°-125° C.
