A solution of 7-(4,4,4-trifluoro-1,1-dimethyl-3-oxobutyl)-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-5-sulfonic acid amide (870 mg, 2.47 mmol) in 30 mL of dichloromethane was reacted with N,N-dimethylforamide dimethyl acetal (580 mg, 4.86 mmol). After 30 minutes, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo to dryness. The resulting solid was triturated with diethyl ether and collected to afford 950 mg of the title compound (94% yield).
