Procedure
A solution of compound 25c (175 mg, 0.59 mmol), and LiOH.H2O (101 mg, 2.41 mmol) in THF/H2O (3/3 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 6 h. The resultant mixture was concentrated and partitioned between CH2Cl2 and water. The aqueous layer was acidified with 1N HCl(aq) to pH˜4. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give compound 25d (163 mg), which was used in the next reaction without further purification.
