A solution of 3-[4-(4-diethoxymethyl-[1,2,3]triazol-1-yl)-benzyl]-2-ethyl-5,7-dimethyl-pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (21) (2.19 g, 5.04 mmol) and 4N HCl (50 ml, 200 mmol) in 30 ml of dioxane was stirred at r.t. for 2 h. The reaction mixture was quenched with sat aq NaHCO3 and extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over anhydrous Na2 SO4, filtered and concentrated under HV.
