A mixture of 4-chloro-5-methyl-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester (500 mg), 2-amino-5-fluor-phenol (265 mg) and p-toluenesulfonic acid (75 mg) in dioxane (5 ml) was stirred at 140° C. for 15 minutes under microwave radiation. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool, filtered and the filtercake was washed with dioxane, MeOH and diethyl ether to give the desired product.
