4-((2S,3′S)-2-Methyl-[1,3′]bipyrrolidinyl-1′-yl)-benzoic acid tert-butyl ester (0.28 g, 0.8 mmol) was treated with 5 mL of 4N HCl in dioxane at r.t. overnight. The HCl was removed by air blowing and absorbed into NaOH aq. solution. The solvent was evaporated to dryness and dried further under high vacuum to yield 0.37 g (HCl salt, ˜100%) of the title compound as a white powder.
