Ethyl 2-(34(2,3-diphenyl-7,8-dihydropyrido[3,2-b]pyrazin-5(6H)-yl)methyl)phenoxy)acetate (step 2) (163 mg, 0.340 mmol) in EtOH (2 ml) was treated dropwise with 2M NaOH (0.340 ml, 0.680 mmol). The solution was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The resulting white suspension was collected by filtration, washed with water and dried in a vacuum oven at 40° C. to afford the title compound;
