Procedure
Concentrated aqueous HCl (2 mL) was added to a suspension of (S)-methyl 5-(1-(1-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)piperidin-4-yl)-2-oxopyrrolidin-3-yloxy)picolinate (0.19 g, 0.45 mmol) in MeOH (4 mL). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature overnight and then concentrated. The residue was concentrated from MeOH twice to afford (S)-methyl 5-(2-oxo-1-(piperidin-4-yl)pyrrolidin-3-yloxy)picolinate hydrochloride (0.19 g, 0.44 mmol, 98%).
