1-Benzo[1,3]dioxol-5-yl-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid [5-[(2-chloro-phenyl)-hydroxy-methyl]-thiazol-2-yl]-amide (25 mg, 0.058 mmol) was placed in 1 mL of toluene with p-toluenesulfonic acid (14 mg, 0.073 mmol). Methanol (3.0 L, 0.075 mmol) was added and the solution was subjected to microwave irradiation for 5 minutes at 150° C. The mixture was then evaporated to dryness and purified by reverse-phase preparative liquid chromatography to yield the pure product. (6.0 mg, 0.013 mol, 22%). ESI-MS m/z calc. 515.1. found; 443.3 (M+1)+ Retention time 3.72 minutes. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3CN) δ 1.23-1.30 (m, 2H), 1.56-1.67 (m, 2H), 3.38 (s, 3H), 5.88 (s, 1H), 5.99 (s, 2H), 6.84 (d, J=6.2 Hz, 1H), 6.92-6.98 (m, 2H), 7.26 (s, 1H), 7.33-7.38 (m, 1H), 7.41-7.48 (m, 2H), 7.62-7.71 (m, 1H).
