Procedure
Piperidine (1.2 mL) was added to 5-chloro-2-nitro-4-trifluoromethoxy-phenylamine (0.757 g, 2.94 mmol) in a sealed tube and the mixture was heated to 100° C. for 2 h. The mixture was cooled to 23° C., poured into water (50 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (3×80 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine (50 mL), dried, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to yield the titled compound (0.900 g, 99.9%). MS (ESI/CI): mass calcd. for C12H14F3N3O3, 305.1; m/z found, 306.1 [M+H]+.
