Procedure
60 ml (60 mmol) of a 1N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide are added, at ambient temperature, to 3.74 g (10 mmol) of methyl 2-amino-5-[1-bromo(imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-yl)carbonyl]benzoate in 300 ml of methanol and 125 ml of water. The reaction medium is refluxed for 6 hours and then 140 ml of a 1N aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid are added. After concentration of the methanol under reduced pressure, the precipitate obtained is filtered off, washed with water, and then dried under reduced pressure at 40° C. for 18 hours. 3.53 g of a yellow solid are obtained.
