Reaction Steps
The quaternization of 59.1 g (0.2 mol) of N-[2-(2-diethylaminoethoxy)-4-nitrophenyl]acetamide dissolved in 700 ml of ethyl acetate was carried but by adding 20.9 ml (0.22 mol) of dimethyl sulphate with stirring for one hour at room temperature.
