Methyl 2-(3-(bromomethyl)phenyl)benzo[d]oxazole-7-carboxylate (70 mg, 0.2 mmol) and piperazine (68.8 mg, 0.8 mmol) were added to ethanol (30 mL) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. The resulting mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure to obtain methyl 2-(3-(piperazin-1-ylmethyl)phenyl)benzo[d]oxazole-7-carboxylate (79 mg, yield 91%). LC-MS (ESI) m/z 354 [M+1]+.
