2-(2-Fluoro-4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)benzo[d]oxazole-7-carboxamide (300 mg, 0.9 mmol) and platinum (IV) oxide (150 mg) in methanol (20 mL) was purged with hydrogen (2.5 MPa) at 45° C. for two days. Then the mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated. The crude was purified by prep-HPLC to obtain 2-(2-fluoro-4-(piperidin-4-yl)phenyl)benzo[d]oxazole-7-carboxamide (100 mg, yield 32%). 1H-NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) δ (ppm): 1.93-2.03 (m, 2H), 2.15-2.18 (m, 2H), 2.94-3.20 (m, 3H), 3.52-3.55 (m, 2H), 7.32-7.37 (m, 2H), 7.51-7.55 (t, J=7.6 Hz, 1H), 7.93-7.95 (t, J=7.6 Hz, 2H), 8.29-8.33 (t, J=7.6 Hz, 1H); LC-MS (ESI) m/z: 340 (M+1)+.
