To a solution of 2,4-dichloro-5-trifluoromethylpyrimidine (1.27 g, 5.8 mmol) in MeCN (20 ml) was added 5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-ylamine (568 mg, 5.8 mmol) and Et3N (1.6 mL). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature overnight. LC/MS showed the completion of the reaction. Evaporation of the solvent afforded yellow oil that was purified by Gilson (5-95% MeCN/H2O, 15 minutes) to give the titled compound as solid (300 mg). m/z 278.
