A mixture of the above 3-trifluoromethyl-5-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-pyridin-2-ylamine (4.59 g, 15 mmol) and dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal (2.25 mL, 16 mmol) in toluene was refluxed for 1 h. The reaction mixture was evaporated and dried at HV to give the title compound as a light yellow solid (4.21 g, 78%). MS (ISP) 362 [(M+H)+]; mp 114° C.
