A mixture of 6-chloro-5-nitro-1H-isochromen-1-one (230 mg, 0.00102 mol), (S)-2-aminopropanamide hydrochloride (127 mg, 0.00102 mol), triethylamine (142 μL, 0.00102 mol) and methanol (20 mL, 0.5 mol) was stirred at 60° C. for 3 hours. the solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by flash chromatography to afford the product as a yellow solid.
