A round bottom flask was charged with (S)-tert-butyl 3-(5-(2-(3-fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)acetamido)-6-methyl-1-oxoisoquinolin-2(1H)-yl)pyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (100.0 mg, 0.0001826 mol), methylene chloride (3 mL, 0.05 mol) and 2M hydrochloric acid in ether (4 mL) was added and the reaction was stirred at 45° C. for 3 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by reverse phase preparative HPLC to afford the product as white solid.
