To a solution of (R)-tert-butyl 4-(2-(5-(2-(3-fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)acetamido)-6-methyl-1-oxoisoquinolin-2(1H)-yl)propyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (100 mg, 0.0002 mol) in methanol (6 mL, 0.1 mol) was added 4M hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane(6 mL, 0.02 mol) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The volatiles were removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by reverse phase preparative HPLC to afford the desired product as a white solid.
