4-Chloro-N-[5-chloro-2-(2-morpholin-4-yl-pyridine-4-carbonyl)-pyridin-3-yl]-N-methoxymethyl-3-trifluoromethyl-benzenesulfonamide from step 2 was dissolved in a mixture of 4 M HCl in dioxane (8 mL) and water (2 mL), heated to 85° C. for 2 h. The solvent was evaporated and the residue was purified with HPLC to give 4-chloro-N-[5-chloro-2-(2-morpholin-4-yl-pyridine-4-carbonyl)-pyridin-3-yl]-3-trifluoromethyl-benzenesulfonamide. MS m/z: 561 (M+H)+.
