To a solution of 4-[2-(2-ethoxycarbonyl-ethyl)-3-(6-mercapto-hexyl)-phenoxy]-butyric acid ethyl ester (162 mg, 0.388 mmol) in DMSO (5 mL), 3,5-dibromonitrobenzene (129 mg, 0.46 mmol) and Cs2CO3 (150 mg, 0.46 mmol) were added and stirred at 90° C. for 3 hrs.
