Reaction Steps
The title compound was prepared by heating 2-carboxymethyl-1-(4-isopropoxyphenyl)-5-(5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridinyloxy)indole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (140 mg, 0.26 mmol, see step (b) Example 25), NaOH (aq. 2 M, 0.6 mL) and EtOH (1 mL) at 90° C. for 7 h. Yield 124 mg (92%), nip 202° C.
