1-(4-Diethylaminophenyl)-2-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-5-(4-trifluoromethoxyphenoxy)indole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (150 mg, 0.25 mmol, see step (a) Example 75) was hydrolysed at 55° C. for 3 h with NaOH (aq, 2 M, 2 mL) and dioxane (2 mL). Work-up as described in step (d) Example 1 gave the title compound. Yield 110 mg (77%).
