Reaction Steps
An excess of HCl (4 M in dioxane) was added to a suspension of 5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-3-[(ethoxycarbonylmethylmethyl-amino)methyl]-1-(4-isopropoxyphenyl)indole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (189 mg, 0.35 mmol; see step (e) above) in dioxane (4 mL). After 10 min the mixture was concentrated and the residue treated with Et2O and filtered to give the title compound.
