The title compound was prepared from tert-butyl 4-[(2-hydroxymethyl)pyridin-5-yl]piperidine-1-carboxylate (Example 1(2)) (64 mg, 0.219 mmol) and 4-methanesulfonyl-3-methylphenol (41 mg, 0.219 mmol) following a procedure analogous to that in Example 1(3) and (4) as a pale yellow amorphous (35 mg, yield 35%).
