Procedure
Imidazole (0.29 g) was added to a solution of tert-butyldimethylsilyl chloride (0.34 g) and the subtitle product of step i) (0.6 g) in DMF (10 ml). The reaction was stirred for 24 h before addition of a further equivalent of tert-butyldimethylsilyl chloride and imidazole. After stirring for an additional 24 h the reaction mixture was partitioned between EtOAc (100 ml) and H2O (200 ml). The aqueous was extracted further with EtOAc (3×100 ml), the organics combined, washed with H2O (100 ml), brine (100 ml), dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to a crude solid. This material was purified by column chromatography (1:1 Et2O/iso-hexane) to afford the subtitle compound as a yellow oil. Yield: 0.50 g.
