3-Ethyl-6-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-hexenyl iodide [VI; Ar is 3,4-(CH3O)2C6H3, R is C2H5 ] was prepared from 13.8 g. of 3-ethyl-6-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-hexenyl bromide (Preparation C4) and 9 g. of sodium iodide in 120 ml. of acetone, to give 15 g. of product as an oil.
