In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of [5-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxymethyl)-isoxazol-3-yl]-methanol (2.94 g, 12.08 mmol) in AcCN (120.0 mL) was treated at rt with MnO2 (8.17 g, 84.56 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 24 h at rt before being filtered through Celite. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a yellow oil: TLC:rf (9:1 hept-EA)=0.32. LC-MS-conditions 02: tR=0.92 min.
