In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of 1-[5-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxymethyl)-isoxazol-3-yl]-ethanol (1.79 g, 6.95 mmol) in AcCN (70.0 mL) was treated at rt with MnO2 (3.36 g, 34.77 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 72 h at rt before being filtered through Celite. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a yellow oil. LC-MS-conditions 2: tR=1.13 min.
