The title compound (6.22 g, 82%) was prepared from 4-bromophenol (5.0 g, 28.9 mmol), benzyl bromide (3.44 ml, 28.9 mmol) and cesium carbonate (10.36 g, 31.8 mmol) in a similar manner to Intermediate 76. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 7.50-7.30 (7H, m), 6.86 (2H, d, J 8.8 Hz) and 5.05 (2H, s).
