Procedure
A suspension of 1.02 g (2.56 mmol) of 8-hydroxymethyl-7-methylcarbamoyl-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-8,9-dihydro-7H-1,3-dioxolo[4,5-h][2,3]benzodiazepine (stage C) in 40 ml of ethanol is mixed with 0.45 ml (9 mmol) of 98% hydrazine hydrate and RaNi catalyst while being stirred. After 30 minutes, the catalyst is filtered off, and the solution is concentrated by evaporation. The residue is recrystallized in ethanol, and 0.83 g (88%) of product with a melting point of 136-138° C. is obtained.
