A mixture of intermediate 100.2 (Step 100.2) (18.4 g, 64 mmol), 3,3-dimethyl-piperazin-2-one (Step 108.4) (9 g, 70 mmol, 1.1 equiv) and Cs2CO3 (27.1 g, 83.2 mmol, 1.3 equiv) in DMF (75 ml) was stirred for 12 h at rt, quenched by addition of H2O (500 mL) and filtered to afford 14.5 g of the title compound as an off-white solid. Title compound: ESI-MS: 335.2 [M+H]+; tR=2.22 min (System 1).
