Procedure
2.0 g 3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-cyclopenten-1-one are stirred with 30 ml epibromohydrin and catalytic amounts of piperidine for 1 hour at 100° C. After concentration, the mixture of epoxy- and bromohydrin is separated by high-pressure liquid chromatography. In this manner, 2 g 3-[2-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)phenyl]-2-cyclopenten-1-one are obtained as an oil which is then dissolved in 20 ml t-butanol. 2 ml of t-butylamine were added and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 48 hours.
