Ethyl 2-(4-{[(4-chloro-5-ethyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)carbonyl]amino}phenyl)-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate obtained in Example (91c) (89 mg, 0.22 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (15 mL) and dichloromethane (10 mL). A 2 N aqueous lithium hydroxide solution (3 mL, 6 mmol) was added, and the mixture was stirred at 70° C. for 30 minutes. The organic solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and 1 N hydrochloric acid was added until the pH of the solution was about 4. The resulting solid was collected by filtration and washed with distilled water to obtain 67 mg of the title compound as a light brown solid (80%).
