A mixture of 2,3-dichloropyrazine (5 g., 0.034 mmole), morpholine (5.8 g., 0.067 mmole), and 50 ml. of dimethylformamide are heated at 90°-120° C. for 6-14 hours, in an atmosphere of nitrogen. The reaction mixture is cooled and evaporated to dryness at a water-bath temperature of 55° C. A chloroform solution of the residue is extracted twice with 0.1M sodium hydroxide, dried over magnesium sulfate and evaporated to leave the product.
