(3Z,6Z)-3-(4-Acetoxybenzylidene)-6-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-2,5-piperazinedione was treated with aqueous sodium hydroxide in THF at room temperature for 8 hrs to give the title compound (1519) in 30% yield.
