A 1.0 g. sample of 3-(chloromethyl)-6-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine is heated (50°-60° C.) in a mixture of acetone and water in the presence of silver nitrate. The mixture is filtered and the filtrate concentrated to give the product of the Example.
