Procedure
7 g (0.025 mole) of 2-methyl-5-[2-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-styryl]-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2.9 g (0.05 mole) of isopropylamine are mixed in 100 ml of isopropanol and the mixture is refluxed for 7 hours. On cooling, a precipitate forms; this is recrystallized from toluene, together with the solid residue obtained from concentrating the mother liquor. 5.1 g (61% of theory), melting point 156°-157°.
