Methylamine in ethanol (33%, 20 cc) was added to 1-methylthio-1-[2-(4-methoxy-2-pyridylmethylthio)ethylamino]-2-nitroethylene monohydrate (2.01 g) and the mixture was stirred at 18° for 20 minutes and evaporated to an oil which was crystallised from propan-2-ol to give the title product (1.1 g) m.p. 107°-108.5°.
