To a solution of 1-methyl-8-(pyridin-2-ylamino)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-h]quinazoline-3-carboxamide in a 1:1 mixture of methanol and dichloromethane, 4 N HCl in dioxane (1 mL) was added. After 1 hour at room temperature the solvent was removed under vacuum and the solid was triturated with diethyl ether affording the title compound. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 3.0 (m, 4H) 4.4 (s, 3H) 7.3 (m, 2H) 7.5 (s, 1H) 7.8 (d, J 8.8 Hz, 1H) 8.2 (t, J 7.7 Hz, 1H) 8.4 (dd, J 5.9, 1.0 Hz, 2H) 8.6 (s, 1H) 11.6 (s, 1H).
