A solution of 14 (480 mg, 1.2 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) was treated with TFA (3 mL) at ambient temperature. After 75 min, the solution was concentrated, diluted with EtOAc, washed with saturated NaHCO3, brine. The aqueous washes were back extracted with DCM and the combined organic extracts were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to afford crude 15 (309 mg) as an orange-colored oil that was used without further purification. Mass spectrum, m/z [305.2] (M+H)+.
