A solution of 25 (1.4 g, 3.5 mmol) in MeOH (20 mL) was added to a solution of NaOMe (0.34 g, 6.3 mmol) in MeOH at ambient temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred for 16 h and then concentrated. The residue was diluted with EtOAc, washed successively with 1M HCl, brine, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to afford 13 as an orange-colored foam (1.39 g) that was used without further purification.
